ECOT World Tourism Day Statement-Tourism and Biodiversity

 

The World Tourism Day is celebrated every year on September 27th. The purpose of the event is to raise public awareness on the role of tourism in the contemporary world and to draw attention to the impact that tourism has on communities and ecosystems worldwide. This year’s theme is ‘Tourism and Biodiversity’ and the official celebrations will take place in Guangdon Province, China.

 

On this occasion ECOT issued a statement in which it calls for making the biodiversity protection a priority for governments and the tourism industry worldwide.
